VALENTINE'S DAY MINI-SESSIONS

I know one little girl who is going to have the coolest valentine's cards in her class this year!!!  

We are going to staple (or glue) construction paper to the back of her picture which will create a pocket.  Then we are putting  'Pop Rocks' candy in the pocket for the coolest Valentine's day classroom cards EVER!  I totally stole this idea off of Pinterest... Oh how I love you Pinterest (and oh how I love beautiful children that LOVE being in front of the camera... She's a doll, isn't she?!?)!!!  

I know.  Now you're thinking "I want my kids to have the coolest cards in the class too".  So, in the spirit of the Valentine's day season I am going to offer last minute Valentine's day mini sessions.  Details are listed below.  I did a mini-session with my son and our dog as well (he's 2, so he's not in school, but he will be sending them to his grandparent's and aunts and uncles). I can't put the images up yet b/c they are a surprise for our family.  :)

Prop Suggestions (client is responsible for bringing their own props):

Cut out construction paper hearts, Valentine's day themed clothing, giant suckers or cupcakes or candy, heart shaped balloons... 

**clients: If you want your image to have text on it (as pictured above), Please come prepared with what you would like it to say.  Otherwise, I will have a list for you to choose from.

Gabriel Robert's 2 year photo session... with his mommy. ;) ::Grand Rapids Children's Photographer

For Gabe's photo session I wanted to capture his interests at this stage of his life.  If you haven't guessed it by now... he's OBSESSED with trains!  His little life revolves around them.  We play trains, we watch trains, and we chase trains in our Jeep.  Let me tell you... as if I didn't already know... it is pointed out to me EVERY time we drive over a train track.  :)

We also wanted a few football shots to hand over to the presses when he's drafted for the NFL.

Ohhhh.... Gabe.  My heart is full.

Photographers Note (added 1/5/2012):  


I was surrounded by women this morning.  I knew I would be... it's a wonderful mothers group that I joined last year that meets every few weeks.  A lot of those women are on my Facebook page (business and personal), so I was prepared for the questions & comments that I knew I would be getting about these Boudoir Mini Sessions.  After listening to their comments I knew I had to get home, feed my son, put him down for a nap, run downstairs and write this note.  Here it is.




YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.  


IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW OLD YOU ARE, WHAT SIZE YOU ARE, OR WHAT COLOR YOUR HAIR IS... YOU ARE GORGEOUS.  


When I was in college I was out during a  'practice session' with a fellow photog student and I said to him "You know what I love about photography?  It teaches you to see the beauty in everything".  I still think about this statement every day.  Every day I feel so lucky that God has given me this gift to see what I know everyone else does not.


So... if you are even CONSIDERING doing this photo session... EMAIL ME.  Let's talk about it.  Tell me your concerns.  Tell me that you don't want the Christmas cookies that have attached themselves to your stomach (like mine) to show in the shots... we can work around it.  If you are self conscious about the dimple on your thigh.. we can work around that (or I can just edit it out... Photo editing software is pretty incredible these days).  You would be amazed at what we can do with props, clothing options, and photo angles.  
I am not trying to pedal my business here.  If this just isn't for you I completely understand.  I only want to throw this out there to anyone who is considering booking but is having doubts about the beautiful woman that they are. Believe me, I definitely have my own insecurities.  The thought of getting down to my skivvies in front of someone I hardly know scares the crap out of me.  But man.. how I wish that I could find a Photographer to do this for me at this cost... To capture in time how I looked in my thirties, I know that one day I'll look back and wish I had.  Forget that.  Which of my photog friends will do this for me?  We can trade.  ;)


I can not stress this enough ladies.. these sessions will never be this low again.  I have done a lot of research for this type of offer and at full price it's going to run you between $400-$800.  This is a TOTAL STEAL.  If you have EVER considered doing this... now is your chance.  If you don't have a 'significant other'... who care's.  Do them for yourself so that when you are 97 years old you can look back and go "DANG!  I LOOKED GOOD!!!!".

I created a blog... oh my:: Grand Rapids Infant & Child Photographer

I have absolutely no idea how to work a blog, so please be patient while I figure it out.   However, I do know that I am growing increasingly frustrated with the poor quality images that Facebook is spitting out.  I spend hours composing & editing beautiful images for my clients and they look like crap when I put them up on FB.  So, it's time I learn how to blog... Here goes nothing. ;)


First up in the blog spot are the Panter sisters.  I have already put their gallery on my FB page, so these are repeat images.  Like I said... I'm just trying to figure all of this out.  I'm using these images because 1. I really love how they turned out, and 2. I know their Mother will probably be the first person to join my blog or even view the link for that matter.  Hahahaha... right, Chrissy?!?
